I've had nothing but great support from them from day one. I bought my UAD-2 Duo card back in the middle of 2009 and it's been awesome since.

I wonder, though, how many potential "clients" out there ask for an audition of the full text of the spot, and then just use the audio they like the best.

We've never changed a spot or wa ...

Interesting that Frank and I came to the same conclusion. I listened and wrote down a few words on each mic and LOLed when I read Frank's post.

1: Squeaky, flat, lifeless
2: Boxy & boomy...not ...

Primary: KRK Rokit 5 G2s. They flatter the sound somewhat but they're more than accurate enough for VO work.

Secondary: Yamaha NS10s with a Bryston 3B power amp. They sound awful, just like they sh ...

I put one in the mixing PC. The OS and DAW are installed on it, and a few other aHobo Tounges as well. It's only 64GB so I have to watch space consumption.

All the audio data resides on a traditional HDD. ...

I second the notion on a power conditioner. My studio became a lot more quiet once I started using them. Now, the whole (small) studio is powered off of one circuit, with everything plugged into the c ...

Most Waves plugins support sidechaining, but sorry to hear it won't work for your setup. It's insane how 64-bit isn't widely supported in *and* out of the pro audio world.

Sadly the case. I have x6 ...

Sadly, the Waves plugins won't work in Cubase 64-bit, which is kind of annoying. I'm not going to get a DSP board for the UAD plugins just now, so I'm back to looking for a good VST3 plugin. Smile

Is ...

We run Windows Home Server on our home theater PC; this lets us watch Netflix/Hulu on that PC, and it also serves as the backup point for all the computers in the house.

We back up our tracking roo ...

I use a set of KRK Rokit G2 5's primarily. I am mixing 80% VO and music as well.

In addition, I have a Bryston 3B powering a pair of NS10s with a Radio Shack passive sub that I can switch over to f ...

Awesome, DB. I've been to a couple of GDCs and it's always a great time. I doubt I'll be there as I'll have a new babe in the house.

Will the transcript of your talk be published? I'd be interested ...

Aha! Great point. I will therefore identi ...
