I just spent two hours enjoying Broadcast News again. It's been several years since I saw it last. I think it's right up there on my list of all time favorites. I remember having a crush on Holly Hunter when I first saw it. She did such a great job in that role. William Hurt and Albert Brooks were also terrific. If it's been a while since you've seen it (or if you never saw it) I highly recommend it, for what that's worth.
I'd be open to hearing about more favorites, business related or not. |

Hi Don,
I've not seen that film will but I will look for it.
I also love Holly Hunter.
I've met her once and she is a sweetheart, very shy!
She was in a theatre production of "by the Bog of cats" in London, and she was so outstanding in it that I had to see it twice.
If you ever see that she's in a play again, fight to get tickets. She's a very fine actress!

OMG, I LOVELOVELOVELOVE that movie. I took the tape off to college with me b/c that was what I was going to be...except more sports oriented...and sooo not going to get married until I had my career established and be a strong, pioneering woman with the world in my hand. Hmmm, I was just holding a very nasty diaper, does that count? Ha. But I love that movie. Now I wonder where that VCR tape is. .. _________________ 006 member of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Mic. Bobbin,
You're thinking of Network.
Broadcast News had Holly Hunter, William Hurt and one of the best performances by Albert Brooks evah. What is that scene "I'm reading and talking at the same time!" The scene when Holly Hunter breaks down and cries gets me every time....love that movie. _________________ Moe Egan

Albert Brooks was a great personification in that movie of the folly of trying too hard(especially in broadcasting) and William Hurt of the wisdom of not giving a ###&& |

There were so many great lines in that film. And the scene with Brooks anchoring the weekend news is priceless...
