I have a Focusrite Voicemaster Pro running into an Mbox 2 by way of S/PIDF...and all tied together on a iMac 2.6Ghz 2GB RAM.

Everything works fine when working in Pro Tools...but I can't stand using PT!!!

Soooo...when I try to use Adobe Soundbooth to record a session...I get nothing, nada, zilch...no levels whatsoever. I have tried re-config the settings within Soundbooth but to no avail.

And before I had the pre-amp hooked up and I was running all audio through just the Mbox 2 alone...I could record just fine on both PT and Soundbooth...

Any suggestions??? Thx.

Jeff,

I don't know, but I wonder if the ASIO drivers for the Mbox2 support the digital I/O ports?

Jeff,

Maybe a way to test would be to use analog cables to connect from the line-outs of the pre to the line-ins of the Mbox2? If you're able to get audio in to Soundbooth using that connection, then you'll know the drivers don't support the digital I/O. You can make further decisions from there.

So is Soundbooth theoretically compatible with a Mac OS ?

Hey Rellis...yes...Soundbooth works great on Mac...much better than the earlier version...this has multi-track capabilites and all types of other bells and whistles...

And thx for the suggestion Bob...that's a good idea and I will try!

I know in Twisted Wave, you'll notice there are more than just two input channels for the Mbox, there's actually 4.
Channel 3 and 4 are the SPDIF inputs on the Mbox. Should be the same in Soundbooth. I have the original Mbox, and I only see two inputs. I don't have an SPDIF source to test it with, however.

Make sure everything is correct in the Audio-Midi Setup application, located in Applications:Utilities. You must tell the Mbox Core audio driver to receive the clock sync from the SPDIF input.
Looks like this:

Soundbooth CS4 won't work with PowerPC Mac's though. You'll need an Intel machine.

Hey George...I'm pretty sure I've looked at that and made sure it was set up that way in Soundbooth...but I'll need to double check...thx
