building an Avid system and want to use if for my music as well. Recently learned the M-Audio 2496 does not play well with Avid XPro, so looking at alternatives. Soundblaster Audigy 2 does play nice with Avid, and I may have to go that route.
Anyone? TIA |

I don't know the answer to your question; however I wanted to tell you that I just stopped using the Audigy 2 for recording VO because it is very noisy. I'm now using the Echo Mia Midi and it is much quieter and works well with Adobe Audition. |

Thanks, that's good to know.
I have been thinking of an external interface as well (Avid doesn't need audio except for monitoring) thinking that if there is a conflict I could easily remove the firewire or USB interface from the system. Information hasn't been easy to find. |
