Hiya chaps and chapesses. Hope you are well and busy.

My name's Gareth Lilley and I was granted access to this fair site just a few nights ago, and I'm very excited to be here.

I live in Newcastle in the north of England, where we eat pies, drink beer and have fights. It's a jolly old romp, though I do try to moderate my pie intake - except on Thursdays.

Obviously I'm a newb here, and pretty much a newb to VO too. I do actory type things but want to do more voicery type things. I have a fair amount of studio experience having done things voluntarily for some time, but I'd really like to turn that into something bankable over the coming weeks/months/years/lifetime, and [attempt to] get paid for something I enjoy doing.

I have read with interest many of your excellent posts (several of which were instantly bookmarked), I have familiarised myself with your search button up the top there and I hope not to be a particular burden on your time. You seem to have yourselves a good community here and I hope I can make a positive contribution to it over the coming X.

Anway, that was my first post just to introduce myself. If you'd like to know more about me do let me know. Also say hello, or what-ho if you'd prefer, or yalreet, to use my local parlance. And if you know of anyone hiring 'round my way..

No, seriously.

Hope to hear from you soon.
Gareth

As a Brit you'll be ignored and the response to anything you post will be underwhelming.

From another Brit, welcome on board.

Long live pies, beer and a f**kun good kikkin on a Saturday night.

Oh mustn't forget the bonnie lass screaming "Gaz, leave it!"

Oh yes, we have a fine tradition of posts "ignored for Britishness" but really it's because we Yanks don't get it when you English blokes are being funny.

Thank you for the heads-up. I will prepare myself for, and look forward to being entirely underwhelmed.

As was the bonnie lass from last Saturday night.

As for English blokes being funny: I didn't realise we had a sense of humour/humor.

Welcome! We are all resident curmudgeons who also double as cake-eaters (and the rule here is: NEW GUY BRINGS THE CAKE!).

A few things to remember:

* the women here (and most of the men, I think) LOVE chocolate;
* watch out for Todd;
* eat the watercress at your own risk;
* the llama does spit -- but only on first meeting you;
* it doesn't matter to us if you use PoToos or not;
* we can sometimes get very passionate about our neti pot usage;
* we care deeply about your spinal development;
and
* Philip is as Philip does.

Other than that, it's pretty normal around here.

Smile

CC, was your post in response to anyone in particular? Wink
I seem to be smelling a lot of malt vinegar in these parts lately, did someone forget clean the fridge again?

Oh! Welcome G, just noticed you there!...Did you bring Cake? Laugh

Welcome!

L.

I think it's best if I say I did bring cake. Yes, lots of it in fact.

And Mr Swinehart: no Deirdre did not cut me any discount, but she was quite explicit about bringing cake and chocolate related goodies to the table.
