VOX 2009
This year it's all about your bottom line... and the finishing line!
The Event: VOX 2009 The Date: Saturday 9th May 2009 The Location: Chesford Grange Hotel, Kenilworth
Beat the recesssion. Refuse to capitulate. VOX 2009 is the perfect way to protect and grow your business - and have a great weekend.
VOX is the annual event for producers and voiceovers and it's never been more important to forge close links with your business partners.
Improve your bottom line with Speed Networking
Voices! Get fast-tracked straight to the people that book the sessions, meet them face to face and do business.
Producers! Find smart new talent, enlarge your voice over stable and keep your productions sounding fresh.
Vox Speed Networking is probably the best chance you'll get to meet and greet the people that matter. Last year's Speed Networking went down a storm. Our sponsors, voiceovers.co.uk, have now refined and improved the format of this afternoon event to give voices and producers an even better opportunity to introduce themselves to each other.
Be first to the finishing line in our Night At The Races
Following our Gala Dinner we'll be off to the races. There'll be six 'televised' horse races on which each table can place bets. Using casino style chips instead of real dosh, you won't lose a penny, but you will be in line to win some great prizes. The compered night will include; computer controlled tote betting complete with personalised betting slips and full, big screen coverage of each race. After the final photo finish there'll be prizes for the top three winning tables, and 'owners' of the winning horses will pick up prizes too.
The new VAT rate means slightly reduced ticket prices. Please be sure to use the attached booking form with the revised pricing.
Promoting your Brand
As always, manufacturers, voiceovers, service providers and production companies are invited to display their wares. There'll also be the traditional 'demo desks' for voices to pile high their showreels.
The VOX Awards
Once upon a time, long ago, the VOX Awards and the VOX Weekend were arranged by the same group of people. You may not realise it, but for many years now, they've been organised independently of each other. But, just to make it easier to witness and more difficult to understand, the VOX Awards are once again handed out... at the VOX Weekend. Come and celebrate the 2008 winning entries over pre-dinner drinks.
Disco and Late Bar
The disco comes courtesy of Groove Travelling Discotheques and music maestro Chris Dannatt.
Sunday…..
A full English breakfast should sort you out, or perhaps the chance to chill with breakfast in bed and the Sunday papers is more your style.
Book now!
If you want more business, you want VOX 2009. Book your place now using the form attached, call Layla at LBS on 0161 477 2710 or email vox2009@lbs.co.uk

If you're a VO with ISDN probably $800 (ish) well spent. |

Wow! I just checked the train timetables. I'm about 2-1/2 hours away from there. Oh have to give it some serious thought now. I know a few peeps who are going.

Ok, here's the padding.
Two years ago I was invited to be a speaker at VOICE2007 in Las Vegas. Nice offer. Well, not really as there was no fee, no expenses and when I worked out the cost/benefits; had I invested $5,000.80, the 80 cents for a Mars Bar at the airport I would've returned home with a Mars Bar. Fun time? Very likely ...But dis is bidnizz.
On 9th May 2009 in the UK we have Vox2009, it will be fun but there will be an opportunity to put yourself in front of people with money to spend on Voice Overists. If you have a studio with ISDN* you're in with a chance. Including flights and the cost of Vox2009 my guess is you're looking at an investment of around $800. 2 radio commercials per week from small UK radio stations over the following year would make you around $2,000. To be fair you may make nothing at all but that's business.
In case anyone wondered I have no financial interest in Vox2009 or the promotion thereof, dis is justa 'eads up innit.
*For those who believe access to an ISDN studio, Source Connect, phone patch or knowing someone who looks as if they may be related to someone with an ISDN studio counts as having an ISDN studio, it doesn't. Don't even think of attending unless you're just attending for the fun of it.
For your information the rates in the UK for radio ad's start at $23.40 for one commercial on a small town station up to $866 on one national station. |

Just got an encouraging email from the VOX 2009 peeps. I'm IN (for part of the day's activities anyway)! See you there. _________________ Intuit and do it!

I'm in. Been meaning to book for months, but my credit card has had other priorities recently. If I can ever catch Layla in the office, I'll book!
