Two of the best sets of ears on this BB told me my Senny MKH416 was sounding bad, so I sent it back to Sennheiser through the local certified dealer: Guitar Center.
It came back in about two weeks. All fixed. No cost.
THAT'S customer service, or standing behind your product, or good PR or sumpin'.... I'll be a Sennheiser fan forever!

Dave,
Thanks for the timely info...I'm about to send my 416 off as well. (Is this what sending your kid off to camp for the first time feels like?)
Good to know it'll be well cared for! _________________ Doug Turkel (tur-KELL)

I think I've posted this before, but when I was having issues with mine, I called Sennheiser directly... they had me send it back, they tried to replicate the problem... couldn't replicate it... but sent me a brand new 416 anyway.
That's service.
Edited to add: not to mention the fella I dealt with there was top notch... easy to deal with, easy to get in touch with, helpful, friendly, concerned for my problem... the best! _________________ Caryn Clark... The Hip Chick Voice!

Those folks get a lot of hate for buying out the Neumann brand, but you can toss another vote for their service into the hat from me.
Never had a problem with their products or their customer service for any brand owned by them. Even my vintage stuff (including old Neumann preamps) have been treated with the upmost care by them.
Good folk to hang out with by the bar as well
/recommends getting to know your Sennheiser rep at the next local AES show in your area... you learn a lot. _________________ Voiceovers by Gregory Houser

When I was in Ahlen, Georg Neumann said to me.
"Philip, Es gibt ein Ding, das wir gut und sie machen, sind alle Mikrofon, das so bitte geverwandt wird, nicht bittet mich, Ringkampf zu bewaffnen"
And that was said Pre- Sennheiser. Respect to Mein Käse und Zwiebelfreund mit dem wek Griff und Liebe von Eva Braun Fotografien. |

Nice to hear... last few 416's my clients had repaired weren't free at all...
But the mics weren't under warranty any longer, either. _________________ If it sounds good, it is good.
