I never thought I'd see a microphone that was Le Sex, but that picture you have made most certainly IS. _________________ DBCooperVO.com |

Why, thank you Deebs.
It's part of the design for my new web site. A quick test mock-up of the opening page is here.
I've just gotten my U87 overhauled and thought I would celebrate with this little photoshop treatment. The smoke I photographed from burning incense. I love the smell, but I had to burn so many to get the shot the studio stank for days.

It really looks great!
As someone who recently stopped smoking in her workspace, (when I got my new mic at Christmas) it did make me a little nervous about smoke particles getting into the diaphragm though.... eek! |

Perish the thought, my dear! Having just gotten the capsule cleaned the last thing I wanted to do was gunge it up again with smoke!
No. The smoke was photoshopped in later. Funnily enough, the Neumann rep here thought I had actually painted the mic itelf... God forbid...though very tempting.

(edit) Ooops, just noticed that I wrote "gotten". Mixing with too many Americans, that's my problem. _________________ www.michaelrhys.com

My favourite "non-word" is outwith. Quite like sneak in the past tense "snuck". Words with two syllables are fraught with danger. A friend of mine was a TV announcer and had to cope with live announcements while the techies were installing some new transmission software. when there was a picture cut his mic was cut. He complained, no one cared. Then came the day when he was cut off at the last syllable introducing a TV programme called "A Christmas home in the country" ..................Suddenly everyone from managing director down cared, quite a lot! |

How is the word "Outwith" used?
I've heard "out-tro" to be the tail of a tune or commercial, but "outwith"? _________________ DBCooperVO.com |

Tends to be used to describe something not directly associated to but connected. "We have teamed up with others working outwith the project".
I believe it's a nonsense word. |

No kidding! Especially if they mean "without" as in "outside of".
People are such dopes.
But Mike's microphone avatar is awesome. _________________ DBCooperVO.com |
