I got two PM's (flax seed oil really is good for you) and had to post them because
well, because.

The thread jack made my day b/c it was full of hot Pintos...um, I mean, love and laughs. The Shirleys were as over the top as the Tammys but oh so lovely.
Schick, I'm also not going to spend my money on the event for many reasons. I'd love to meet up w/ some VOAs I've come to know and enjoy and, keeping with a theme of the jack, share the love of toys. I don't know the politics behind the event. I could give a few of these but I really enjoyed what you wrote. As Paddyo noted, the old school journalism is hot. OK, so I paraphrase but I believe that is allowed in threadjack 101.
On a different note, I don't like some of the negative that were said against you but that is my opinion and one I'm pretty darn comfortable with. There are also parts of your own writing I question but, hey, that's the way of it. This is an open forum and we are a fun loving group who enjoy our craft. You didn't post it here, you merely posted the link here.
It was nice to giggle at the VO jibes (snicker - 3 hours for a :60) and ogle the 'Pintos but lets bring it back home people: I scored this fantastic gig today, all while watching this post, and will happily pay this month's mortgage payment because of it. OH, and did I mention my oldest goes to kindergarten a week from tomorrow and today she, the brainiest scaredy cat you ever did meet, jumped from the diving board today? She said it was ok because she knew how to spell board. I was so proud and, through my tears, told her all about this board. As our DB would say, "Ain't life grand?" |

i was gonna stay out of this tonight, but i'm going to have to change my "wow" from page 1 to a "yikes!"
many of us get calls & email along the lines of, "how do you do what you do, and how can I do what you do, too?" we all deal with them one way or another - there are whole threads devoted to it ... somewhere.
todd, you are addressing folks en masse with your version of that story, and that's fine by me. and however i might agree with much of what you say - it remains your (and for the most part my) opinion. it may, or may not be the "truth", whatevertheheck that is. to so vehemently defend it here as if it were chapter & verse seems a bit asinine to me.
we had some fun with this thread today ... it's been a while since we've done that. i think most of us enjoyed the back & forth.
shirley we can let this one die and get back to arguing which OS is better or why my mic is better that your mic (sorry deebs)
peace. |

Sorry I didn't have much to contribute to the threadjack... I'm just not as fast thinking as Todd.
The only thing I learned today was that we didn't have blogs when I was in high school. All we had was the sh*t house wall. You never knew if you could really believe what you were reading or not. Was that really Shirley's phone number or the pay phone at the laundromat. _________________ "Bailey"

I was serious when I said I hoped Todd stuck around. I have no doubt that he can offer lots of great insight and be a valued member of the family.
If he chooses not to, at the very least, he's given me inspiration for Thursday's Voice-overload comic. _________________ Jeff

That other thread was locked before I got to say, "I thought the Gallagher brothers were the guys who smashed watermelons."
Anyway -- except for the serious part, that was one of the best threads ever.

Amen to all.
It's a new day, a new month, a new quarter, a new season... Happy September 1st, ya'll. And Shirley too.
Edited to add: D'OH... scratch that... it's not a new quarter yet. Shirley I just had a blonde moment. _________________ Caryn Clark... The Hip Chick Voice!

I'm so glad you locked the thread because after I scrolled through his "goodbye all you lame high schoolers" (paraphrased) comment I wanted say "So long and don't let the pop screen hit you on your way out the door". And then when I scrolled down to find out he had come back for another round of..... massive self-______ , I so wanted to say "Get off the cross...we need the wood", but thankfully I didn't.
Shirley, it's not nice to insult my peeps.
Peace, love, out.

Tis true... it's like Thanksgiving leftovers... better the next day! Fun-nay stuff there... I'm belly laughing now!!! The next vo-bb child should really be named Shirley.
My vote is to sticky that sucker up at the top. Though, I'm sure I'll get voted down by Mama Deebs. I'll just have to learn to search for it, I suppose. _________________ Caryn Clark... The Hip Chick Voice!
