I recently fixed up my site after discovering the cause of some IE incompatibility. I had all my pages saved as xhtml which some versions of IE don't agree with. (being a complete noob to CSS, I thought xhtml was the standard way to save it. )
Now...my samples page has gone very strange, only a few bits of the page appear on a browser (FF & IE). At first I thought it was a javascript problem as my contacts page was doing the same thing, and after removing the js based google maps from the contacts page, it was back to normal.
I have now cleaned up all the redundant html code on the pages (which i was too lazy to do just after I changed to CSS), but no luck.
Then I decided since i wanted to change my layout anyway, this was god time to do it. So I first got the exact CSS layout I wanted and then copied just the bits I needed into that. Still same problem.
THe layout should follow this style:
http://lcmsmedia.com/
Here is working xhtml page:
http://lcmsmedia.com/samples.xhtml
BUT...this is what it looks like as soon as I save it as an html page:
http://lcmsmedia.com/samples.html
I been tinkering with this for the last 2 weeks and cannot come up with a fix. It just makes no sense to me. There is nothing on the page which should make any difference if its xhtml or html.
I have already tried changing the
" language="javascript" type="application/javascript">
which the validator saw as a problem, to:
<script>
But...again, it changed nothing.
Does anybody have any idea why this would happen?
p.s. The media player is the pixelout player. _________________ Mandarin Chinese Voiceovers & Localization

I've got no clue but I'm sort of in the same boat - I'm trying to rebuild a horridly built website and it just keeps exploding. I'm trying to convince the client to just let me start over (I'm not doing it for pay. I'm bartering - I'll fix and update the website in order for my girls to have free gymnastics). Good luck! _________________ 006 member of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Mic. Bonded by sound.

Bartering, thats a good idea. I wish I could find a web design company who needs some sonic branding or sound design done.. _________________ Mandarin Chinese Voiceovers & Localization

Hey:
the HTML version doesnt have the DIV tags, and I dont see anything else that "places" the elements anywhere but to the left.
You don't say what you're using to edit with, but I think you should be using something like Dreamweaver, or even GoLive. Let me know if you need professional help (web design, I mean) I know a couple of people who could do it in an hour or two _________________ "When I was your age, we had to dial to get online"

Oh..is that it. I thought all my divs were in place because this is same code that was on page when it was html before.
I'm using Dreamweaver now. I was using NVU for mos part, but just switched.

Thanks, but I've just blown budget on new toys. If I can't get it sorted out, I'll give in and take it to the pros. _________________ Mandarin Chinese Voiceovers & Localization
