Phil Walden of Capricorn Records (Otis Redding / Allman Brothers / 311 / Widespread Panic) fame passed away a couple of weeks ago. The Georgia Music Hall of Fame commissioned (w/ GMS Productions) a radio special to be done that was played on stations throughout the southeast. I was honored to do the narration. I've been told that it will be broadcast on Mercer University's internet radio Tuesday moring May 16, 2006 at 9AM EDT (1400 GMT) and Tuesday night at 9PM EDT (0200 GMT). The internet version has all commercial breaks removed. radio.mercer.edu
The 55 min special has rare audio clips of interviews with Phil and also Duane Allman. Stories that have never been public until now. Interesting to those of us who grew up with southern rock. |
