I saw this commercial a week or so. At first I did a double take. I didn't quite know how to take it. Some people think I'm a bit old-fashioned... actually some say I have no fashion at all.
I guess I'm trying to see what others felt about the commercial. I think the idea behind the PSA is great. I did a search in the archives for this topic, and found nothing.

I laughed so hard when I first saw it because it's just waaayyyy out there. It's akin to an SNL skit. _________________ 006 member of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Mic. Bonded by sound.

Typical. "Honey I didn't know what to get you for........" If my significant other got me this gift, I'd give him a framed copy of the results for his birthday.
BTW does this gift include the office co-pay? |

Considering how many women aren't taking advantage of this preventive measure, and suffering mightily for it, I guess it takes bold measures to alert the reluctant.
I'm not a doctor, yadda yadda, but my understanding is that we wouldn't need this papillomavirus vaccine if women got regular pap screens. The diseases that cause cancer are slow to develop and easy (usually) to treat if caught early, but I guess the poor pharmaceutical industry needs a few more shekels.

FWIW, and TMI, a regular pap is what alerted MY doctor to the issues that led to my treatment a few years ago. So, while I may think the ad is a little... strange... I applaud the thought behind it. By the same token, I make sure the hubby goes for his little test every year, too. _________________ Charter Member: Threadjackers Local 420 |
