Ohh, great pic! It was gorgeous here but now it is too overcast. There is something magical about it tonight.

Very windy and clouds coming and going here... a magical view, though!

Deirdre,

Thank you. Completely overcast here so no moon is visible.

Got to view the moon through a friend's telescope last night...cool to look at the sphere's horizons and see mountainous edges.

By the way, it was kind of blue...more of a gorgonzola than a roquefort...

Talk about your cheesy humor....

Deebs- Thanks so much for posting that pic...the moon was hidden behind clouds by the time I thought to check it out last night- and Bruce, regarding your cheesy humor- Brie are not amused.

Gorgeous pic! We went to an outdoor venue with a live band to ring in the New Year. It was in the upper 60's, with just a slight overcast sky that filtered the blue moon. The glimpses of it were stunning!!

No filters, no Photoshop.

It was a clear and cold night. The moon was so bright I awoke early because I thought it was morning. It was only 4:20....a bit too early in the morning.

I've got a little Sony DSC-H50. It's a kind of PhD camera: Push Here, Dummy.

Quite automatic, but with some manual choices.
It takes surprisingly good pictures.
