I have read all kinds of reviews about this E-MU 1820M....user reviews and critic reviews and they all seem to agree that this is a superior product. Most say you can't get anything close to this for under 1700 dollars. It's general list price is $499. I was wondering if any of you know 1st hand or from a friend maybe whether this is indeed a product worth buying. E-MU 1820M

Tom - I believe that is the card being used by one of the guys on the Goldwave forum. He and I just discussed it briefly in the past day or so. He really likes his very much.

Now, he is a pianist and musician. His needs are probably different from yours or mine - assuming voice work only and not multi tracking or midi use and all that jazz. I'm not sure it would make sense to spend that kinda cash when there are other very high quality cards available that will do everything we could need for voiceovers - and at much lower cost.

I am thinking someone here mentioned having the Echo Mia card - which I am told is just killer and at a very attractive price. Hmmmm......Mary, if you are reading this - was it you? How about a review? Noise, ease of use, any problems installing or getting drivers to work, that kind of thing.

Thanks for the info Don. I'm using the new Creative X-fi Platinum card right now. It's an awesome card. But it's a gaming card as well as audio creation card. That E-MU set-up (by reading the specs and the reviews)sounded like any problem anyone ever had using a sound card for voice over is non-existant. hahahaha Of course it always helps to hear 1st hand from someone you know and trust rather than just reading strangers reviews. Just wanted to know if anyone here had 1st hand knowledge of it's worth.
