Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone here has ever joined Voicestarz before or if someone knows a person who is familiar with them.

I understand that it's not a marketing site like Voice123 or Voices.com

Voicestarz is run by Tara Strong who many animation folks refer to as the 'Queen of Anime'. She offers classes on CD-Rom and a critique after you finish the class.

The voice work I've gotten so far has been anime which I absolutely love and seek to better myself at. So I'm considering joining for the course and critique.

First though, I want to get some opinions if anyone has them.

Take care!

Well, I don't know if you ever joined or not, but I will belatedly answer your question. The're not worth joining; I sure won't!

All they want is your money. That's why they jacked up the price some time back. In fact, they probably don't even care if you do succeed. After all, their "talent" is just a bunch of obnoxious blathermouths.

But if you did join, and you're not the 'Princess of Anime,' don't say you weren't warned!

Tread lightly there, Matey.
Tara Strong is not someone who fits that description "obnoxious loudmouth".

And apparently something is up (or down, as the case may be) with the site because their index page is blank in my Safari Browser, and is asking for IE 5 in my Mozilla browser, so they may be off the grid anyway.

Incidentally, this question is over 2 years old. It may be a moot point.

I didn't join Voicestarz. Never did. I've learned that working with people in person is far more beneficial than with CDs, books or DVDs. Tara Strong is an awesome VO talent and VERY well respected in the industry. I may not be an 'Anime Princess' but I have voiced several anime projects in the past two years which I got on my own.

I have had a link on my class website to their site for years and checked it recently to see if it was still working and couldn't get any of the videos to play.

I was supposed to have received a CD-ROM copy of their program to review for the blog last year. I'd forgotten all about it.

I'll drop Tara Strong a note and see what's up with the status on the site.
