Reminds me of what I was told recently from a friend who has a small organic dairy farm and is well versed in the health benefits of "raw" un-pasturized & un-homoginized milk. She said the phlegm that you typically get from milk is a result of all the pasteurization and processing of milk. Supposedly, raw milk straight out of the cow won't give you phlegm. Tried a cup and I think she may be right. _________________ Joe Szymanski

I avoid the issue entirely by drinking Silk. |

I used to do that do. Sadly, non-organic soy (and especially Silk) is a big ol' scam. It's not clean at all. They use hexane in the processing and soy plants are a big polluter. Basically, Big Farm(a) is trying to get America to gobble up as much soy and corn products as possible.
http://cornucopia.org/soysurvey/OrganicSoyReport/behindthebean_color_final.pdf
I am slowly going towards eating more fruits and green veggies with moderate meat intake and throwing the soy in the garbaggio. The processed soy stuff (veggieburgers) are just bad for you (sodium, chemicals...)
Better off eating relatively clean meat (if you can find it) than dirty soy. Especially dirty Chinese soy pretending to be organic.
I'll still eat a little soy now and then (and it's hidden in everything now) but it is not a suitable "meat replacement" (and I was a strict vegetarian for years).

Umm...I hate to burst your friend's bubble, but the pasteurization doesn't produce the phlegm. I've tried both ways and get grungies when I drink milk/have dairy products of any kind -- raw, organic, flamed, etc. It may actually have more to do with the lactose in the milk and your tolerance of it. _________________ Charter Member: Threadjackers Local 420 |

I'm with CC. But I can have fat-free Greek yogurt right before a session with no problem... _________________ the Amy Snively family of brands for all your branded thing needs.

How are they supposed to have Big Fat Greek Weddings when their yogurt is fat-free?

Yeah, I'm just not going to click on that.
Since few VOs smoke anymore (am I right)? I think we need to eat and drink garbage from time to time to help give our voices some character. Super healthy clean voices sound awfully boring to me, imo...or I should say the healthiest people I know have really boring voices. _________________ Skype: globalvoiceover

That's because it contains 10% real Greek.
I've been consuming milk products for ages without trouble behind the mic. Glad to know I'm not special in that regard.
