Hey all:
If anyone is searching for a nice lighting solution for your studio/booth that works well for reading, produces very little heat, lasts for many years, and doesn't break the bank, I think I found a nice option.
Check out Ikea Lack bookcase lighting.
For $25 a set (two lamps) it seems really hard to beat.
I'm installing them in a client's booth tomorrow, I'll let you know what he thinks. _________________ If it sounds good, it is good.

I mounted them underneath the lip of his music stand with velcro, then pointed them up toward the center, which covers the entire area with light effectively and looks pretty cool. _________________ If it sounds good, it is good.

For over all small booth lighting, I love the idea of using fiber optic lighting.
The upfront cost is high, but the savings in power and the reduction of heat is great.
Though the LED replacement bulbs for fixtures are great too, but is again very costly in some configurations. . _________________ The Blog:

Acoustics are counter-intuitive. If one thing is certain about acoustics, it is that if anything seems obvious it is probably wrong. |

Love the idea of any lightsource for a booth without heat as its main byproduct.
They look nice and simple with a modest pricetag to boot.
When you mounted them under the music stand lip, do they inhibit page-turning in any way or are they too small to be wrist-busters? _________________ Carl Welden

I saw those when I was at Ikea this weekend, but for some reason, didn't buy it.
I went to Target and bought and LED Clip lamp and clipped it to my stand. Works great! No heat! Will "last for 30,000 hours!" _________________ Caryn Clark... The Hip Chick Voice!
