Recently purchased an Alesis microphone, which came with an Audacity CD which I downloaded on my PC. I can record fine with the audio tirned down, but can't record with my earphones plugged in to my PC. Sounds liek I'm talking through molasses. Any thoughts? Sound familiar? |

Um, just guessing here, but here are a few things to check:
In Audacity, under Edit-->preferences, check your recording device to make sure Audacity is seeing your microphone. Also, check your quality and file formats. I've had a similar "molasses" sound when trying to play back a file made at one sample rate in a different setting (say, 48k at a 44k playback).
Are your headphones plugged in to your sound card output? Are you getting any sound when you do that? Do your speakers have a headphone jack? Have you tried plugging your HPs into that?
Like I said, I'm just guessin'... _________________ Charter Member: Threadjackers Local 420 |
