This week I got a :15 tv spot for a jeweler, and the producer sent me the video file without audio to give me a feel for it. I gave him a couple takes of the raw audio he needed as both the character and the announcer and went on my merry way.
Since I had all the raw elements of the spot, I decided to see what I could do on my own in Sony SoundForge Audio Studio. (Yes, I DO know how to have fun on a Saturday night!) I can't edit the video itself with this, but I can attach the video to the audio and mess around with the audio all I want. I've arranged all the vo where I would want it to go, and it all fits within the timeframe, so I'm good to go there. Now I'm wanting to add music in the background, so I'm looking around for some of that.
My question is pretty dumb, but what the heck...does it really matter which channel the music goes in, as long as it's soft enough to not drown out the vo?
This has been kind of fun to play around with this, and gives me a better idea of what the person doing this for real has to do. _________________ We have nothing to fear but fear itself.
Well, that and mimes.
