|
|
Audition 3.0 definitely has it's advantages over 1.5 in a number of areas, but one I find woefully lacking in the inablity to choose a different audio driver than the input driver.
I'm running into the problem of using a Centrance Mic Port as my input, and not being able to play back the audio from the computer sound card, as I can in AA 1.5
In AA 3, I need to go back to preferences every time I am switching from recording to playback....
Am I missing something here? |

cap'n - go to: file > audio hardware setup. there you can set your default input & output. should only have to do it once.
make sure you do it in both edit view & multitrack view.
hope this helps. _________________ "i know philip banks": todd ellis

here's the issue:
in AA 1.5, you can select separate drivers for both the input and the output...so, if you want to use the MicPort to record, you select the Centrance recording driver, and if you want to use your computer laptop speakers for playback, you select the playback driver of your computer soundcard. You arent' just limited to playing back the recording from the headphone jack on the Mic Port
Now in AA 3, it seems you can't do that. If you select the MicPort as your recording device, the only playback device available in the options is the MicPort output device, or the headphone jack on the MicPort. You can't route the audio for playback through the computer speakers on the laptop...so basically you can only playback through headphones. |

I think I figured it out..
In the Control Panel in Audio Hardware Setup, I didn't have all the devices selected and in the proper order. Now I can playback thru the sound card and record through the MicPort. I knew there had to be some way to do this..
thanks, Todd... |
