|
OK, guys and gals...need to pick your brains.
I just got a 416 for Christmas, and was wondering what any of you running with one suggest for a shockmount? I have a little floor rumble that I need to arrest, so I would really like to have one for my current room situation.
Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks! _________________ Brad Venable

The Audio Technica 8415 Shock Mount will do, or anything like it. I found one similar are Guitar Center for around $20 a few years ago. _________________ The Blog:

Acoustics are counter-intuitive. If one thing is certain about acoustics, it is that if anything seems obvious it is probably wrong. |

Also the Rode SM4 works perfectly with the 416. I use it for the road kit as well.
The Audio Technica and Rode mount are about the same price. Right around 50 bucks or so and both (as well as others) will work fine. |

SM4 is the most often used in my experience, I hate the way the elastics wear out on the Audio Technica. Also a new one from Avant Electronics. _________________ If it sounds good, it is good.

I took one look at that and one phrase dropped into my head.
"All looks fine Mr Banks, now pop your clothes back on and we'll weigh you" |

Thank you, everyone! All great suggestions and now to find the right combination of inexpensive and effective. I think they would all work great, especially with the wood floors and footfall sounds.
And thank you, Phillip, for making me laugh. _________________ Brad Venable

I use these below on every microphone I own once the factory one breaks. (they always do). Effective. Cheap. I also own the 8410, and the enhanced audio m600 mounts..
