I am really in a jam here.
I installed Pro Tools 9 (Mac) recently and all was going well until, I decided to open the Pro Tools program without turning on my Digi002. It changed the I/O and now after fiddling with it I cannot seem to get it back to where it was. I tried to click on default but it puts up the Aggregate I/O or something that only shows two inputs and outputs. All the others are grayed out.
I am a creative type and the routing etc, I am not the best at.
I also tried to click on import and it only shows me I/O settings for a C24 or Control 24. I need the Digi 002 and it does not show.
I just need my i/O settings back to where they were for my Digi 002 and it doesn't seem that I can do it. Anyone have any tips? Can I download a template for the i/o for a Digi002? _________________ Ben

Ben,
I wish I could offer you some insights. Have you tried asking this question over the the DUC? _________________ Be well,

No, not yet. I wasn't sure if it was a simple solution or not. I may try to create a profile over there and ask.
Thanks for the response, Bob. _________________ Ben

I would try trashing your Digidesign Database folders. Reboot and try again. _________________ Wicked huge.....in India.

I finally figured it out and just in time for a session I had at 2pm. Thanks for the suggestions, everyone.
I was able to record earlier in the day with a work around by changing where cords were plugged etc and record because I had access to inputs 1 and 2. I usually have my pre plugged into input 5 so as to totally bypass the 002 pre-amps. But I had no access to this input/it was grayed out on the I/O.
Well....here is the fix (and I believe this is specific to Pro Tools 9) and these are my findings:
Since you can use Pro Tools 9 now w/o a Digi hardware device, the system changes your i/o settings if you launch PT without your device being on. So when I launched PT9 without my Digi002 being on, it linked it to a different engine called PT Aggregate.
So to fix this, I needed to go to Setup/Playback Engine and select or re-select in my case and choose Digi 002 engine. It was on the Pro Tools Aggregate engine, which I believe allows you to choose different inputs from the computer etc to record from. I now have all my regular i/o settings as before. Yay!!! And I think I have most of my hair left. Nothing like approaching sessions and having your gear not work....
Thanks again everyone! _________________ Ben
