Sometimes I wonder if people actually understand what they are requesting. I recently submitted a demo on one of the P2P sites and yesterday received the following message from the job poster:

"My client has informed me that he prefers ISDN. If you have ISDN could you please email me a custom demo to ____@_____.net. It sounds like you have the voice qualities that fit what we are looking for. Thanks!"

I merely e-mailed her a copy of the same custom demo I had submitted for the job, but I got the feeling from the wording of her message that perhaps she doesn't exactly understand what ISDN is or does.

My agent once called me on a weekend with a relatively urgent request for an ISDN session the following Monday. Not having my own ISDN, I scrambled to arrange for some time at a nearby studio. Then, my agent called back and informed me that what the client was calling a need for "ISDN" was really only a desire to do a phone patch.

I wonder if that's the case with this potential client, as well.
