Here's the deal. I've had this thing tucked away for years: a Henry Matchbox interface amplifier.

The small jacks above the XLR ins and outs are IHF ins/outs, about which I can't seem to find much info. Anyone know just what these are for? They're similar to RCA jacks, but they don't quite match up. Any way this can be used as a PC interface?

The radio station I do part time for has a few of those scattered around the studio, but they're the RCA to XLR version for matching less expensive (consumer) equipment to pro so it'll work. Never hear of IHF though...anyone else?

Nope. We used to have the RCA version as well.

IHF stands for Institute of High Fidelity which supposedly standardized input and output impedance, among other things, for home hi-fi equipment.

Just guessing here, but I bet those are Really Good RCA jacks... something we aren't used to in this everything-made-cheaply-in-China age.

I tried again...turns out RCA plugs do fit in those jacks. Still not 100% sure how I'll use it, if at all, but its interface seems a little clearer. Thanks!

Supposedly this thingy allows us to connect "consumer" electronics to our "professional" equipment. But in the last few years that line has blurred to the point of stuff being called "prosumer" equipment--stuff that is almost as good as professional gear but too expensive to be sold at Wal-mart. Although I am surprised that Wal-mart doesn't have a pro audio department.
