Are there times during the year where there are typically less jobs around?
And times (pre-holiday I'd imagine) when things pick up?

It really depends on your market and the mad skillz you sell.

I've been out of me head with brand new stuff, a few crumbs from some smaller clients and the corporate clients who usually fill the trough first are completely quiet.

There isn't really a "typical" anything anymore, as far as I know.

I've found December 15th to January 10th (give or take) to be slow, so that's when I try and take a vacation. Presidential election times are real slow as the airwaves are taken up with political ads and I think business holds its breath a bit waiting to see who wins. This secondary election may cause a bit of a slow down.

Other than that, I think slow downs just happen randomly per region, per industry, per person.

But does "slow and steady wins the race" apply here? Hmmm.

Does anybody else remember a posting or article about slowdowns, and putting things off until next week and so forth. I remember reading it a good long while ago. I was thinking it was something someone had posted here, but I can't find it so now I'm not so sure.

and

which turned into a bit of a dog fight as I recall Gasp

That's the one! It may have been a dogfight but I found it inspiring. Thanks for helping me find it again.

I used to be a museum curator. Stuffed & pickled birds, skeletons, dusty stuff, I'm all over it.

Just checked my records and I see a trend. Three years out of every four I get no work on the 29th February.

Well you should 'leap' up off your laurels and do something about that...call your agents....get someone on the horn.....someone should be held responsible Wink

You're right. I thought it may be a sign of my waning popularity.
