Inspired!
The great thing about VOICE, VOX, Faffcon and the New York mixer is that I get to spend time with friends and may be make a few new ones along the way.
In my work the ZING comes when I'm walking Jazz and Bess, doing the washing up, trying to run for one more minute or writing utterly stupid emails/posts/blogs.
Next ..GRITcon? Two days of giving each other swift kicks and enabling the "dreams come true" mindset. One rule - NO SHOP TALK. Is it possible for a group of VOs to spend two days not talking "shop"? Yes...It takes grit.
At VOICE2010 I caught myself amongst a group of people and wasn't talking to anyone. I turned to my left to listen for a moment to a couple of VOs with the intention of joining the chat. I know that this pair had been rattling around together for 3 or 4 days.
Vo1 - "Well I have a client who asked me to...."
Vo2 - "Yep! Some of my clients ...."
I turned away and chatted with the voices in my head. |

Wonderful insights. I have to admit I was a bit distracted by his safe voicing though...really 3 mics? Isn't one enough? _________________ Pam Tierney

So that's what PROMAX is all about. I was going to watch it again to see if I could understand it, but my brain kept telling me to delete... and move on. _________________ "Bailey"

I love it. Will have to find the time to watch the whole thing one of these days! Thanks, Melissa! _________________ jen@jengosnell.com

I'll join ya there. Am apparently good at NOT talking 'shop' (what? Are we planning our journey through a mall?) and would rather discuss or rant about anything else. |

Most interesting for me was after Jonah's video was done and I switched tabs, the audio played for the NEXT ProMax video in line about the state of design and I thought that was a great clip.
I am disappointed in myself that I have not pursued attending this conference because I think it would excite my brain...and that doesn't happen enough.
I wonder if I'll be smart enough next time to get out of my own way? _________________ - Peter
