Wanted to post here before hitting e-bay and having to pay the dreaded fees.
Plus, I’d rather a VO peep get a good deal than someone else.
(I may have some pre's for sale too, but for now just this mic.)
1.) BARELY used RODE NTK tube mic. Practically brand new; all original packaging. Obviously works perfectly too, just not real complementary to my particular voice. I also don't hear ANY of the "harshness" some complain about with the stock tube.
Shoot me a PM for pricing if interested (It'll be a good deal.) |

In my own experience, the Rode NTK has been an excellent mic. Upgrading the tube made it even better, then I spent another $120 to have it upgraded by a guy I found on eBay, and now it is quite awesome. _________________ Best regards,

I have a Rode K2...my main goto mic...which is also a tube LDC...do you think the NTK would make a nice addition to my mic locker or is it too similar to the K2? _________________ Tony Impieri

If you wish to have variety in your mic cabinet, I'd make certain you have a good large diaphragm condenser mic (and maybe even a good dynamic mic) before getting a 2nd tube mic. I'm not sure exactly how the K2 compares to the NTK, but from what I've read, I think the K2 is a bit better regarded than the NTK in general. I've also read that while the NTK benefits greatly from a tube upgrade, the K2 does not show much benefit from a new tube.
Hope this helps! _________________ Best regards,

Thanks Tom...Makes sense. I do also have an MXL 2003A and an SM7B. I guess I will skip the NTK and maybe set my sights on a shotgun...maybe a Rode or a Senni _________________ Tony Impieri

My experience too.
FWIF, I have owned an NTK for about ten years. It was my main VO mic the first couple of years, then I got the idea that I needed something else.
Long story short - I've gone through three other mics, and now I'm back on the NTK. It has a NOS Telefunken tube, and I can't stress enough that it's a KILLER combo. _________________ Regards,
