Angela who lives in Clochan (3 or 4 miles away) sent an email.
Letter arrived at Cathy's Mum's house, same village. Cathy is Angela's partner. Cathy's Mum opens envelope without looking; she lives alone so why would she? Inside is a "with comp" slip and a pay cheque for me. Cathy will deliver to me in a day or so.
Angela and Cathy used to live in the street next to Cathcart Street in which I live in.

Will there be a finders fee, or just a standard delivery fee? And will she require a constable escort for the large cheque? _________________ "Bailey"

The power of a small community. This is about to be dramatised as a compelling sub-plot in a major UK soap that idealises the rural aspects of UK life designed to make the urbanites pine for simpler times. Philip knows people in TV. The fees from the production company will provide enough for Philip to stock up on tea and biscuits for a while... some of which will be offered to the ladies in question as an "inspiration" fee. They will politely refuse with a "Ooch, get away with your fancy London ways!" and settle for a couple of minutes fussing with the dogs and a smile from Philip. This part will also be dramatised, leading to some curry-money as well. _________________ Bish a.k.a. Bish

... and the cheque (thanks for spelling it correctly, D) is in USD, providing another exiting episode about how the mysterious international playboy who's hiding out in the north deals with such problems.
Stay tuned... this is nearly as good as The Archers _________________ Bish a.k.a. Bish
