I'd written a paragraph on the need for a practical analysis of the mechanics of the language... and will it translate to being read aloud. However, I threw that out, and decided to simply state my two most important questions...
1) Who am I?
2) Who am I talking to?
Nail that, and the rest should fall into place. _________________ Bish a.k.a. Bish

Neil asks very good questions. In fact, I have come to believe that he is not a noob, but both woodward and bernstein researching the darkest corners of the voiceover world. _________________ "i know philip banks": todd ellis

So, Todd... what you're really saying here is that Neil is quite possibly an undercover Philip putting us through our paces.

Have you ever seen them both in the same place at the same time?
I thought not. _________________ "i know philip banks": todd ellis

What the heck am I actually talking about? What sentences or words support my intuition or guess?
One of the best tips I got, from Richard Horvitz -- among many others, but he hammered it in -- was: don't add any ideas or backstory that's not supported by the actual story. Lots of people seem to do that one.
OH! And another thing he hammered in: make a choice and then let the words do the work. You don't necessarily have to ACT, IN ETERNAL GRANDEUR AND HAMMINESS!
Trust your voice; and believe me, as a high tenor that one is sometimes very tough for me. |

I usually glance at the script on my incoming computer. Get up and go into the booth - get the hamsters spinning - and read the script aloud into the microphone. My brain does something in the background and usually it turns out OK. _________________ Playing for a living...

And if you play your cards right, you may be asked to voice the audio book.
