The only question I have is about their recommendation of one to two kits being able to treat the entire room??? Seems a little sparse to me, but what do I know?

Well, it does seem like the Bonded Logic people answered the call pretty quickly for this type of application. However, these things are only 1" thick and $30 for 6 sq.ft. You can get a five-pack of the 5.5"(thick)x 15" x 93" bats of the Bonded Logic Ultra Touch at Lowes for $39.00. (That's 48.45 sq. ft.)

Granted, these larger bats are probably not as rigid as the 1 ft. panels, but it seems like they will absorb much more for a better price.

Nonetheless, I'm glad you found these Jeff. I'll probably ask them for a sample!

$30 for 6 sq ft. of 1" thick material. I agree with Frank, that two packs (12 sq ft) for a room is a little sparse (to say the least). I do like the idea though... they may be ideal for treating a closet... or maybe using one box to make a 2'x3' utility panel to kill a hot-spot... or multiples of these panels could treat a small space if it needs to be a non-permanent solution.

I'd like to see some figures for how these work stuck straight on a wall (as they are designed to be) compared to mounting in a frame with a 2" stand-off. The company's products look interesting, but I'm slightly concerned that they give full test results across the frequency range for their other "acoustical" products (pro & roll), but stick with an overall NRC for this one. They strike me as a "consumer" product making a token gesture at sound treatment... but may well be effective in certain situation.

The 2" pro-panels seem to have some good specs though. (I think they've been discussed elsewhere here). A couple of 4'x8' sheets of that and you may be well on the way to treating a reasonable space! I'm also warming to the idea of the whole concept of post-consumer recycled waste product.

You'll buy them and then be disappointed. Note that owners of Whisper Rooms say how awesome they are and then complain about their neighbours using a leaf blower 12 miles away.

These things are simply not up to spec, to give you an example a good studio door will cost you £12,500 .... POUNDS not dollars and ideally you need a pair of them. What's needed is volume both in terms of materials and air trapping gaps.

i used the ultratouch recycled denim insulation in a simple frame, and dollar for dollar have been super-happy.

NRC of .97 at 125Hz is VERY impressive. I did Howard Cogan's studio with a combo of 2 and 4" thick panels using this product and considering how much glass is in that room, and concrete, it sounds amazingly good.

The 3.5" Ultratouch recycled denim insulation is only $50 for 8 batts (that's almost 80 sqft). It's not rigid, but it's super easy to frame. The 3.5" is 0.95 at 125 and the 5.5" is 0.97. There is no reason to spend $10/sqft on material that won't even kill the bass.
