Dan Friedman (engineer emeritus) has recorded a primer on selecting a microphone for VO. If you're very experienced with mics you won't need to listen to it. If you're very new to the business it could be a bit over your head, but the rest may pick up a nugget or two.
For some reason they've attached the audio to a photo of Dan's hand and made it a video. That's it. Whatever.

I guess it's a video so they can put URL's on the screen? Hmmm. Could be helpful to those who've recorded in commercial studios but haven't recorded themselves yet. _________________ If it sounds good, it is good.

I craft my own websites including some I do for others. I am trying to develop my own site to the point I am ready to put it on display. And I am down to the one last detail that is driving me nuts. I want the "mechanisms"... the graphics that allow playing of my DEMO to look tidy, neat, professional and predictable. Trying to design something that will work in a predictable way no matter what browser may be in use on the receiving end is quite a challenge. (Too much of the instructional info available in books and on the web assume you have a teen age garage band and you want a gaudy site for other teens.)
There are some comparable challenges in putting video in a website, but I wonder if putting up a "still" in You-Tube with a demo as a sound track turns out to be a more reliable than some of the audio opportunities.
But darn.... I have such ugly hands. I'll have to find some other graphics. GOT IT: maybe wear a glove Michael Jackson style? |
