On a bit more serious note apropos of Philip's posting, this issue of development in "desirable" (that is, desirable for the developers to make a wad of money and then disappear) happens in my neck of the woods all too often. In Arizona, developers laid out streets for subdivisions, but absconded before ever building the homes. If you happen to fly over some of these places, they look like the Nazca lines in Peru.

LOL...back in Scotland I had a habit of spraying a touch of fake snow on the windows since the place wasn't as hyper-into X-mas as I was used to in the States. One year I just couldn't be bothered and left it up into April. One afternoon a bunch stumbled oot a' tha' pub and beckoned:

"CLEAN YER WINDIES!!!"
