I guess I am simple... simple is as simple does...

I would just like to pay the bills... LOL

And of course get iSpeek into the hands of a few thousand fun folks who would benefit from the technology...

I just want to echo Frank's comments... and say ditto.
I don't want bigtime fame... just being able to hear my voice on the air, or having someone say "Was that you?". Throw in about 5 "C" notes a month, and I'd be walking on air.
Smile

The dream? Do a little stand up comedy. I'm about as far from that as the Allstate desk jockey hosting a local radio talk show....but I at least **think** about doing some improv. I'd like to take all the rants in my head, all the twisted perspectives I have, all the letters to the editor written and not and translate them into punchy, clever, witty copy for commentary somewhere, somehow. The things that happen in Utah are, well, priceless!!
I'd like to be behind this Zion curtain 6-8 months a year, and living in a trailer (campground host, maybe??)/yurt/cabin (of course with high speed internet access) in the summer months and do VO from there.
And much more realistically, I'd like a few regular gigs to add to my couple of regular gigs to keep my chops up, bridge the gap between "working" (at the computer waaaaay too much with resultant yukky aches and pains) and "working" (at the mic and then, again, at the computer for editing, the fun PC work).
The ultimate dream, however, and well within reach, is representation so there are more inquiries (INquiries inQUIries) on the phone and InBox. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Dreaming now...

If you get the chance to do stand up, DO IT! I've done it a handful of times when I was a bit younger (in the Navy) and I had a blast! I'm giving thought, once we move to VA, maybe doing it again. I'm going to have more free time now, I've found out, so hey. I can get two things going at once! Smile

Weighing in late to this one. I'd like to have a few imaging/promo retainers, do bigger and better narrations, and hopefully parlay it into animation work. Much the same as some of you, no doubt.

Hopefully, I'd have the time and energy to get back on the theatre stage more often. (Three years since my last curtain call.)

I guess my dream is that Pat Fraley will move to Massachusetts and the rest of the Hollywood animation scene will soon follow. I'm just not sure where we'll put them.

One of my goals is to be able to do VO in four languages.

My dream is to retire with a rolodex of 365 cards, with my favorite student's phone number on each card . Every morning, I dial a number and say, "Tommy? It's your day to change me."

I have a dream today . . .
to get out of the 9 to 5 rat race
to use the meager talents that God has granted me . . .
and have large sacks of money left by my door . . .

I have a dream today . . .
to walk out of corporate America
into the voiceovers promised land
and have large sacks of money left by my door . . .

I have a dream today . . .
to replace Don Lafontaine
as the de facto voice of Movie trailers
and have large sacks of money left by my door . . .

I have a dream today . . .
to make funny voices in cartoons
and be free to have fun and express the child inside . . .
and have large sacks of money left by my door . . .

I have a dream today . . .
to work in an industry were a man is not judged by the color of his skin
but by the quality of his characters . . .
I have a dream today . . .

Did I mention large sacks of money left by my door?

But seriously folks . . .

I would like to earn enough money doing a job that is fun, interesting and challenging, to more than adequately provide for my family, and in the process, I want to be a positive example to everyone I know and everyone I meet, that it does in fact pay, and pay handsomely, to follow your dreams. No matter how young or old you are or how late you start or what you look like or what your heritage or background is or was or any other real or imagined strikes you believe you have against you. I want to show them all that dreams can come true.

The dream: to be the guy you hear saying "... for everything else, there's Mastercard."

The goal: documentary narration, preferably history.

The other dream: A line or two in a Ken Burns production.

my dream goal?

Let's see, I'm a former TV and radio news guy, now video producer for a state agency, where I voice 99% of our productions, and have a couple external clients. I mostly do e-learning and narration which I enjoy. I would like to spread out into some commercial work and more documentary( outside of my own productions). It must be a throwback to being a reporter and naturally curious. Supplement my income at the moment, and keep my hand in it while adding to the kid's college fund. Then be able to devote more time to it as I get closer to retirement (a target which seems to keep moving further away,) supplement my pension, and be creative.

either that or become a rock star.

Short term is to get paid to do this. Longer term to sock a few $$ away in a nice retirement fund. Finally to be able to have my entire income from VO.

Ultimate dream is to be on History Channel, Discovery, A&E, Biography, etc. (love those narrations) Then I will be able to call myself a Voice Talker.

Cartoons.

Not imitating existing characters, but creating new and memorable ones. To someday follow in the footsteps of the greats; Mel Blanc, Daws Butler, and (even though he wasn’t technically a VO guy) my all-time hero… Jim Henson.
