Well, this is all starting to get WAY ahead of my ability to keep up.
Let me address a couple of things that spring to mind. And let me say that these are just a few of the great things that sprung to mind.
I work in a museum (my day job) and we have visitors from all over the world. Almost without exception, visitors from other regions comment how I "don't sound like a Southerner" to which I always reply, "we don't all sound like Gomer Pyle, and if I had known you wanted a tour with a Southern accent, I would have charged you more for it." It always gets a laugh...
Secondly, I thought that Connery was wonderful as Ramius, especially that he did not try to do a Russian accent. At least, that's how it seemed to me, and coincidentally, I just watched Red October today.
Third, I am nowhere near talented enough an actor to do impersonations of actors doing impersonations of other actors in other accents. Heck, I can't even do an impersonation!
You all won't believe what just happened to me. My wife and I went out for our regular monthly dinner date, and ran into this Englishwoman in the restaurant. I asked her if I could talk with her for a few moments, to hear her accent, and her companion asked me why, so I told him that I always had trouble speaking in an English accent. It always sounded too Irish to me. Turns out the guy was an advertising producer, looking for a voice actor who could do an Irish accent, for a radio spot for this local Irish pub. I took his card, he took my email, and I am going to meet him on Monday so the client can hear me doing an Irish accent.
It never rains, but it pours. |

So I'm not a huge trekkie but I thought I could say hello to Lance as well without getting phasered.
Welcome.
Now, if you want to start talking about light sabers and who shot first...well then I'm your guy. _________________ Hart Voice Overs Blog

Lance - I'm late to welcome you....welcome!
What a great story about your chance meeting at the restaurant. Good luck with that. There are opportunities everywhere - and surely there are a few kiosks at the museum that need your voice! (if any of them require strings of Latin names, give me a holler mcm@museumnarrations.com ) |

I did an on-camera bit with him for the 2005 CBS Upfront awards. He's a very nice man. Very talented and very tall. He gave me an excellent bit of advice before we started the piece. He said "have fun". I really liked that advice and I continue to try and apply it in every job I do. _________________ Joe Rodriguez, Bilingual Voice Actor | The Voiceover Thespian Blog |
