Looks like he's trying to corner a very micro market.

So disappointed. I clicked on the demo and expected the first word to be "duuuuude!".

OK... you made me waste a few minutes with investigation. For some reason Al's demos don't play for me, but I've got to agree, he's reached out and is grabbing at a niche market with both hands. Well done.

... and with an enthusiasm and urgency which is somewhat ironic cool

Free Twinkies and Doritos with every VO.

Really??

"The World's First Voice Over Service Exclusively for the Cannabis Industry!"???

What a brilliant marketing idea!
It's inspired me to create my own site, the "World's First Voice Over Service Exclusively for Hair Follicle Replacement Surgery!"

I utterly see no point or advantage into pigeonholing oneself into the tiniest of all possible market segments.

This site is highly recommended. Thank you.

I'm working on a niche-marketing site, but it's not like this...

Attacking a niche market is always good... you may become the go-to service provider. The only downside could be with the mainstream that may not approve of the business model (i.e. residents of the other 48 States). Maybe Al needs to bury his actual name a little more if that's a concern. Any niche marketing may run the risk of defining you as working in that market only.

My marketing revolves around "An Englishman in New York" ... it doesn't mean that I only work in New York, but I choose to target that market. It may have lost me a few UK clients who see me as problematic because of the time zone thing, but that's a risk I take and is more than compensated for by the amount of US clients that want me because I'm here.

Personally, I don't think it's any different from a VO having separate websites and marketing pushes for corporate, medical, audiobook, or monster truck.

... and whether you think it's a good idea or not (not appropriate to this discussion)... two down... forty-eight to go. The market is going to do nothing except expand.

He needs to advertise during the SuperBowl!! That could secure his place in the two states that should be top on his list.

A couple years ago I narrated a website video for the Catholic Cemeteries of Chicago entitled "Glass Front Niches" "for the cremated remains of the body...." That's my new niche market I guess. They contacted me to also narrated one on family mausoleums. I am reaching out more in this area. Guess it's my "deadpan" delivery.

Death and taxes will always be there. Wink
