So, something happened this evening in New York City that I still can't quite believe. I've been narrating audiobooks steadily since 2006. This year, for the first time, I was nominated for an Audie Award; which is one of the "big" awards in the audiobook world.

When they got to my category, Business and Educational Books, I buttoned my tuxedo jacket "just in case" the book I narrated (Leadership Secrets of the Salvation Army) was the winner but honestly I was sure they would read some other book title as the winner.

Instead, surprise, it was in fact, Leadership Secrets of the Salvation Army!

Here is a photo of me with Pam Tierney at the Naudies, following the award ceremony.

Pam was kind enough to take time from her schedule last year to be my director for this audiobook, so huge thanks and congratulations go to her, too.

Congratulations Bob!

Even if you are only no.2 (in the nicest guy in voice over category) it could not have happened to a nicer guy. Well done!

****Note to Lee or anyone else that might have misunderstood me. if I remember correctly, Bob goes by the handle, "the second nicest guy in voice over". My point was not that Bob got second place, but that even if he is "the second nicest guy in voice over", the award could not have gone to a nicer guy.

Two wonderful and talented people. What a great team. Well deserved honor. And for a book recognizing the splendid work of the Sallies.

Wait - you guys got to be in NYC together AGAIN in a matter of weeks? That itself is cool. But the fact that you won (no surprise and much deserved) is fantastic. Here's to many more! xoxo

Congratulations to a great team, and two terrific people individually. There are only so many words, and Philip's were the ones I'd have chosen:
