Never had a problem with it until the introduction of my masticatory prosthesis. If your issue with sibilant sounds is something similar to mine, try a custom action (macro or whatever your equivalent is) like so (from Reaper, though you likely have the same general options available in your software) - action steps to select, in order:

1. Item: Split items at time selection
2. Item: Nudge item volume -1db
3. Item Edit: Grow left edge of item
4. Item Edit: Grow right edge of item
5. Time selection: Remove time selection

Repeat step 2 for as many dB as you wanna drop, and repeat steps 3 and 4 as many times as necessary to get the item overlaps to suit your taste.

I assigned this to the letter "K" on my keyboard, for "sibilant Killer." You can use a different key, if you like. Smile

To employ, set your time selection highlight to the area in question, and Hit Your Chosen Key.

Beats fiddling with EQ or desser. Your essing may be different than mine, but maybe this can provide you with a starting point for a useful little macro to handle it.

Or you could turn this affliction into an asset... even make it your signature sound:

All I Want for Christmas...

It's not *that* pronounced. Just enough that it felt worth the time to experiment with lessening it a bit.
