Bob - Welcome to Voice career level 1. There is only one level and this is it. We all have to walk the tightrope from one side of the canyon to the other. If you fall, sadly many do, there's no way back. I, WE, can't walk the tightrope for you. There is no one walking my walk for me. If you look closely you will see one hand is holding the hand of the person ahead of me. They keep me on the very thin line of rope, they stop me from being so distracted that I wobble. If I let go I'll fall. Look again. I have a free hand. My responsibility is to hold yours.

Here's the deal. If you take my hand you have to walk the tightrope and you have to offer your free hand to someone else who needs it. Here's my hand. Anybody?

FaffCon has already been wonderful...and all we've had is opening circle!
Our own Bob and Kafer have already extended their virtual hands to me,
and I have had several people who came up to me telling me that something I did influenced them....who knew?

This board was the genesis of FaffCon (you DO know who named it, right?....some Brit who I am sure is very happy not to have to be forced to turn in his passport for one with a newly formed country on it Wink

)

This board and FaffCon have changed my life.
I am not being dramatic.
I would not have the career I have with out them.
Why? Because both have the most generous participants in our business.

More importantly I have met my best friend here, and some of my closest friends who have enriched my life in innumerable ways.

I have grabbed their collective hands and outstretched mine.
That's the way it's supposed to work.

Here we go!!!!

Hi Liz! Glad to hear you are having a wonderful time!

I'll take your hand. And Philip's. And extend mine to anyone who finds it useful.

I've been on this board 3 years or so...lost count of the hands I've taken on-and-off board. Kristin, Liz, Philip, Jacob, Scott, Bish, DB, Jen, Dan N,, Bruce (forgive me if I didn't list you and you've helped me. I'm on one cup of coffee so far..).

If I fall (and I might) it won't be for lack of hands extended.

Best wishes on the FaffCon - have a marvelous time.

PS: In case anyone wondered, title and original comment of thread implied...absolutely, totally, really...nothing....

I'm not sure how it is possible, but each Faffcon somehow manages to be even better than the previous one. This was no exception (although San Antonio was so great, it was practically neck and neck).

For anyone who keeps hearing us rave about the greatness of Faffcon, but hasn't managed to go, either due to not being among the first 100 accepted applicants, or not meeting the "working professional" requirement, I strongly suggest you sign up for Faffcamp, coming to San Antonio in March. In a nutshell, it's this place (VO-B cool

, come to life.
