Of course, you can also view the eclipse by making yourself one of those pinhole cameras. This week's solar eclipse is just a partial one. In August, 2017, there will be a total solar eclipse. _________________ Lee Gordon, O.A.V.

I remember a bit in I did on my morning radio show around 1978 in preparation for a total eclipse. We were going to try to blow a giant pinhole in the moon, so we could look at the eclipse through that instead of a piece of cardboard. We built a giant Whoopee Cushion and were going to have a guy bounce up and down on it with rockets strapped to his feet in an effort to launch him to the moon. He was carrying a giant exploding cigar that was supposed to blow the pinhole once he got there. We called it ‘Whoopee Cushion to Totality’. It was a long time ago so I don’t remember if it worked or not, but it was great theater of the mind and we made the bit last for about a week, which was my goal in the first place, so that worked pretty well! _________________ Never do anything you wouldn't want to explain to the Paramedics

I'm going to try the "project it on paper" method I just read about online. (it's on the internet, so it can't fail!) Get some binoculars. Cap the one side. Line up the uncapped side with a piece of paper on the ground, the other end pointing at the sun. Apparently, with some judicious focus tweaks and moving it about, you get a lovely projection. It ain't no tree, but I may give it a shot _________________ Andrew Fogarasi

I'll be viewing through eclipse shades.
But yeah, the pinhole camera is a good way, too.
I wrote about the eclipse here:
