What the difference between an "audition" mic and a "job" mic?

By an "audition" mic I meant to say, "emergency audition/ travel" mic.. something similar to a TASCAM im2 or a Blue Mikey, both of which I use from time to time. sorry about the confusion

...do the police over yonder *really* ride Velocipedes like that in Yonie's picture?

What about for hot pursuit? Do they have those little two-stroke bicycle motors you can strap on?

Once an MKH416 is paired with a Neumann U87 through an AMS Neve 4081 pre all the average Facetube VO expert needs to do is mute all channels and their audition to job hit rate will improve by a factor well above the level it was previously below, averaged over an immeasureless time frame.

For those who do not like messing with the settings on their pre the simple act of not buying cords to connect mics to pre works very well.

What works well also is not plugging in the 'puter. This makes editing a breeze too.
