Trying to (remotely) help somebody with an M-Audio M-track Plus into a Macbook Air (running Yosemite- 10.10.3 I believe). Wondering if anyone has had issues with either device.

They are trying to record with 2 mics (Stereo). Trouble is, one channel comes out OK, the other (in this case Ch. 1) is flat, around -75dB. They claim the reverse has been true (i.e. Ch.1 worked but Ch. 2 did not).

My initial assumption was that Ch.1 was a condenser mic and they forgot to turn on phantom power, but they insist that was not the case.

They say they have tried various combinations of cables, mics (both condenser and dynamics), and gotten the same result.

Any thoughts?
