Union IVR scale/rate floor pay has gone up 79%.
At $413 per hour, the bottom line cost to the client would be $530.78.

How many of YOUR clients can afford that?

The current joke Headline:
SAG-AFTRA gives self 85% raise, guarantees 100% unemployment

I'm sorry, DB..I don't agree. I don't do any of that work, but I can tell you that companies have plenty of money to spend. We have unfortunately trained them that VO isn't worth much, so that's all they're willing to spend on it. VO is part of a work product, used to make companies money. The non-union VO world is all too eager to give work away. It's a downward slope and it's getting very downward. We should be trying to go in the other direction.

I'm not going to qualify this by saying it's just my opinion. . because I'm right.

I once told the director of an IVR company offering me £4.75 per prompt (about $7) my session fee and she was horrified! We parted friends but we did part. Most Voiceoverists are Apologists and they have to stop it at once!

Well then, let's get input from people who rely on IVR for their living, shall we? I'll start:
I can't imagine too many companies are going to want to pay that first hour if they only have a 6-prompt update.

There are plenty of people who are already working at this rate and deserve this rate, but clients who are used to paying what passed as union scale may balk at having come up with so much more all of a sudden.

It's just not something that should be set in stone by the guys who hold the keys to your ability to access medical insurance.

i cut my VO teeth on IVR/MOH, at one point many years ago it was 80% of my business, it's a much smaller percentage now, but it's still in the mix. i'd say 1/3 to (maybe) 1/2 of that is closer to a real world number - depending on the job/frequency.
