|
|
I booked my first ISDN-to-Go session today, and it was EASY-PEASY, thanks to Eric (Leopardi, owner) walking me through it beforehand. In fact, it was just supposed to be a test session, but the client said, let's go ahead and record the spots, so we did...
Mostly I wanted feedback from him (client) on how it compared to regular ISDN-to-ISDN sessions, and he said it was great -- strong signal, good fidelity... so I'm very happy to have this ISDN option in my back pocket. _________________ Always look on the bright side of life.

I'd hit the like button if there was one. |

No more than I have noticed during regular ISDN sessions -- and it was only during talkback. _________________ Always look on the bright side of life.

Slightly off topic but I did two sessions this week with Source Connect Now
and it performed flawlessly. It does everything IPDTL does (and more I think) and doesn't cost me $160 a year. |

I think it is worth pointing out that according to the EWABS interview with Eric Leopardi of ISDN-to-Go they have the capability of sending you an IPDTL link where anyone with an Internet connection and a browser can connect to ISDN through them...having no subscription to either IPDTL or Source Connect Now. (Starting in 2016 Source Connect Now will start charging -but I think it starts at a nominal $8 per month)
Even though Eric was careful to profusely promote how important it is to subscribe to BOTH services...the truth is...he knows that they have developed a way for their customers to completely bypass having to subscribe to either one. _________________ "I reserve the right to be completely wrong." |

I hadn't heard they plan to charge for use of SC Now's basic version in 2016.
Robert told me they intend to keep it free.
But ISDN to Go makes it easier than any service I am aware of to initiate a bridge via IPDTL. I know Steve Nafshun's OutofHear.com can do this as well. _________________ If it sounds good, it is good.

About Source Connect Now...I only know what I read on this site:
https://now.source-elements.com/#!/
"Source-Connect Now is free
Connect at broadcast-quality for free. For premium features including conferencing up to 10 people, pricing will start out as low as $8 a month from 2016, with a middle tier around $24 a month. There is no need to purchase additional links: Guest accounts are always free"
Hmmmm...seems like I need to read more carefully. It looks like "premium features" are where the expense comes in. (my bad)
As always... V _________________ "I reserve the right to be completely wrong." |

If Source Connect Now continues to be free, I don't see how IPDTL can expect to compete for the long haul. My experience with Source Connect Now was pretty much flawless.
In fact I definitely scored points with one engineer, who wasn't familiar with SC Now and was having trouble with his traditional Source Connect software.
SC Now rescued the session for both of us. |
