Hello VO family,

I am having a frustrating issue with my files. Before I save them, they are crisp and clear. After I save them, there is a distortion (almost like a demonic echo) closely shadowing my voice. I am not sure what to do. This is a big problem. I have emailed George about it, but I was wondering if any of you have ever had this issue. Thank you in advance!!!

Hi Rena,

One quick thing to check is the bitrate setting when you save to mp3. You may have it at too low a setting. Check to see that it's set to 128kbps. I hope that helps!

Julia,

It does seem to be already set that way. Thank you for your feedback!

Rena, can you post a screen shot of your Save dialog and/or a brief sample original recording (not an mp3)?

Or, if it's easier, you can send it/them directly to me in a private message.

I'll try my best to help.

I'm sure Rena has already been helped with this, I just wanted to add that the bitrate should be set to at least 128 kb/s. Personally I don't see any reason setting it this low.

Also check your sampling rate (e.g.: 44.1, 16bit)

If it's inadvertently set at 8 bit, it'll sound awful.

Sounds like a sample rate issue. What DAW are you using?

Yes. Things like SRS WOW effects will do this in Windows Media Player.
Disable audio enhancements in your mp3 player.
