Unless I'm missing or misunderstanding something, doesn't it appear that Envato Studio lists talent ("hand-picked," according to the invitation I received) in a cattle-call manner; where it becomes very easy for shoppers to make their decisions on price alone?

Envato Studio is from the folks behind Theme Forest (for website design) and Audio Jungle (royalty-free audio files From $1) who have expanded into other creative areas and now wish to include VO.

If I'm seeing it correctly, it also seems to require that talent place a sample of completed jobs in their profile; in the case of VO, something some clients would prohibit due to content restrictions.

Part of the invitation reads:
Quote:
Service providers like you setup profiles and a selection of services for a fixed price and scope. Clients can compare the services on offer and pick the one that’s right for them. When someone orders your service we provide the tools for you to work together and ways to tackle more work beyond the scope of the original project - our most successful freelancers have lots of repeat clients. This all means that you spend your time doing the work that you love, rather than chasing clients for work.

What are your thoughts on this? More homogenization?

Saw the same invitation...everyone is looking for the right formula.

Have a question though for you Mike...

Don't most of us have completed jobs that we do have permission to showcase on our YouTube channels? [/quote]

Ah! You're right, of course, Connie. It seems I'd had an "adult moment" when typing that. Looking at it now, I can't imagine what was going through my head at the time.

Better check the meds...

My favorite color of the alphabet is turnip.
