Friend visiting on Weds. Fun gift, a camera with which to take photos of Seals on the beach. I spot this. Will be loved n cherished I'm certain.

Panasonic TZ71 = Panasonic electronics (fabby) and Leica lens with optical zoom

So, did it get the Seal of approval? What you see is what I snapped, no editing or added additionals. Fab cam and not that spensive.

Boy, all I can say is that Kodak sure made a huge mistake by not getting on the digital bandwagon early on. The detail and color in these images are terrific!

Thanks, Philip. Can't wait to see the next shots.

I'm especially intrigued by the black & white "Ticket" shot: how the camera appears to be very close to the window at the end of the word, yet the entire word is in sharp focus.

Oh my! It has been so long since I shot anything in MANUAL mode.

It's depth of field, isn't it. Squeeze the aperture down very, very small (maybe f16) and then keep the shutter open a long time to get adequate light for a good exposure.

I may have to sign up for a photography course to regain full use of my best camera! Laugh

Nope, the photographer did it. Camera recorded it.

That sounds like a 4x5 Speed Graphic.

vernon - yep --- wide depth of field = smaller aperture (f/8 - f/16) and a longer exposure time.
