So I was curious...if you had a preamp that supplied 48v AND an interface with an integrated preamp that supplied 48v and you turned the 48v on both units on, would that cause damage or noise? Or would it simply just supply 48v as needed for the mic? Would it cause 60hz hum on the line because the output isn't supposed to have additional voltage?

I personally wouldn't do it just because I know it isn't necessary and seems like it could cause issues to send power down the output of the preamp. I thought I would ask rather than try Smile
