Got one of these last week at a good price. Love it so far. Had a Mackie Spike for years and Mackie stopped supporting Spike with new drivers with Win XP.

Wow, the Mackie Spike was my first interface back in 2006.

Good times. Don't know much about the Scarlett but I do have a Focusrite Forte now. Congrats on the purchase. I always loves me some new gear. cool

I got my money's worth out of the Spike that I've used since about 2005 or 2006. I try to avoid GAS. Sometimes an upgrade is absolutely necessary not just nice to do. Now I need more time to dedicate to VO. Working 40 hrs a week at day job (26+ yrs) and teaching Environmental Law this semester one night a week plus office hours, dept. meetings, prep, and grading. Hopefully retire on a coupe years with more time for VO.

This Focusrite unit sounds clean.

Hey Greg,

Do you find that the glowing clipping light on the focusrite is accurate?

I have the 2i2 which is the predecessor and when the light starts flashing, I'm still way below the clipping threshold on the DAW. Like, I see red on the focusrite, but I'm still maxing out at -18 db on the DAW.

I am using Audition CC and it is not an issue. I focus on the waveform not the light.
