I hope we have great SoCal weather for you. This is supposed to be an El Nino unusually wet winter. _________________ Gregory Best

Spending most of the time with Disney voices so a lot of hot air will be blowing around combined with an upbeat attitude.
"Look a hurricane"
CUE ORCHESTRA - all sing
"The wind it blows with a mighty roar but we don't care about a thing.
The cars they tumble but when danger comes we simply laugh and sing"

DATE LINE PORTGORDON -
It looks as if I'll be on my own for 24th and 25th December. Whilst the Beverly Wilshire is appealing the prospect of being stuck twiddling my thumbs with only Rodeo Drive to entertain me is underwhelming. So what to do?
Arrive at LAX and head for Louie "the Scar" Fusilli's car rental to collect a Chrysler Latrine FlushII turbo 3 wheeler cabriolet. What next I hear you cry?
Well I'll tell you as you asked so politely.
(A) Drive somewhere that ISN'T Los Angeles.
( Stop somewhere when hungry, tired or pulled over by a Constable for being a sh*t driver (in the USA, how would anyone know that?)
( C ) Overnight in an hotel.
(D) Rinse and repeat on 25th
(E) Return car and then go and visit Bill and Camille for the rest of my holiday who will have returned from whence they had up until then been.
It was suggested I could visit Las Vegas. Mmm that or haemorrhoid implants? For me not a difficult choice. |

San Francisco is about a 6 hour drive from LA. It's a bit longer if you take the Pacific Coast Highway, but it makes for a much more scenic route. _________________ Chris Rice - Noisemaker

I have options! Hoorah!
I am supposed to be staying with friends in LA from either late on Christmas Day or as people like me call it Friday the 25th December/possibly 26th December depending on their travel plans/family stuff. Needless to say I am not taking them away from family just to entertain me.
One idea to entertain myself from around 7pm 24th through 25th is to drive my rental car from LA to the Grand Canyon and back again - Photo opportunity. It would appear to be about 8 hours there and 8 hours back so with a hotel for a bit of sleep. Fabby use of time and I'll see a Rizona apparently. Rizonas must be indigenous to that part of the Americas; hope they don't bite, I have allergies. |
