Honestly, put a -10dB range expander on your system and call it a day. _________________ If it sounds good, it is good.

It's very easy to fool yourself that adding more gear will improve your tone.
These days, I'm tracking me and Emma as clean and simple as I can.
Mic > Pre > AD convertor. Despite having a rack stuffed with high end EQ and compressors, I get better and more consistent results with the simplest possible chain.
The small amounts of EQ and compression that we might use are easily done in the box, with far more control and repeatability - something to consider if you spend half the morning doing fixes and updates on previous work! _________________ Colin Day - UK Voiceover
